In 2024, 101 foster families were created in Ukraine, each with its own unique story of care, support, and warmth for children. Foster care is an important step in preventing children from being placed in institutions and ensuring family upbringing for those who have been removed from their biological families.

Currently, there are 379 foster families in Ukraine providing support and care for 771 children. The highest number of such families is registered in the Chernihiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Zhytomyr regions.

The project “A Family for Every Child: Developing Family Foster Care” is implemented in partnership with UNICEF, Partnership for Every Child, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the National Social Services of Ukraine, and the Coordination Center for the Development of Family Upbringing and Child Care, with financial support from the European Union in Ukraine and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
This initiative promotes the creation of a supportive environment for children who have lost parental care, providing them with the opportunity to grow up in a warm and nurturing family atmosphere.
