Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Tymchenko shared insights in an interview with Ukrinform about new opportunities for veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and their families to access social services through the “Electronic Cabinet of the Affected.” This electronic resource is available for employees of the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, the National Police, and the State Emergency Service.

Statistics and Support
Over the four months of the cabinet’s operation, more than 6,000 affected individuals and their family members have registered. Of these, 985 individuals utilized the services of a guide to express their needs. Tymchenko noted that veterans can receive assistance from social workers available in all regional divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Current Issues Facing Veterans
Among the pressing issues concerning veterans are obtaining financial payments, acquiring the status of combatants, recovering lost documents, obtaining injury certificates, as well as treatment and rehabilitation. The Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to expand the list of services, including adding options for organizing sports training.
Interactive Map of Sports Facilities
The Deputy Minister also announced the creation of an interactive map of sports facilities accessible to veterans. Each veteran can enter the electronic cabinet, select their region, and see which sports facilities are nearby. Information about the conditions for conducting training sessions will be available, and responsible staff members will organize the activities.

Attention to Inclusivity
Particular attention will be paid to inclusivity. The card for each facility will include information about the available options for veterans with limited mobility, including those who use wheelchairs or have visual impairments.
Other Initiatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
In addition, Tymchenko discussed issues related to filling the Unified Register of Weapons, implementing a project for searching for missing persons, as well as digital services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the scaling of the 112 Service project.
