The Ministry of Health of Ukraine (MOH) has announced the establishment of a list of diseases for which patients will be able to receive medications based on medical cannabis.

List of Diseases
Specifically, the following conditions are included in this list:
- Chronic or neuropathic pain and/or spasticity caused by:
- malignant tumors;
- diabetic neuropathy;
- multiple sclerosis;
- damage to the trigeminal and facial nerves;
- post-herpetic neuralgia;
- compression of nerve roots;
- polyneuropathy;
- spinal cord injuries.
- Nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy during cancer treatment.
- Parkinson’s disease and Tourette syndrome.
- Refractory epilepsy.
- Diseases causing seizure disorders in children, including Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, Dravet syndrome, and tuberous sclerosis.
- Weight loss associated with anorexia in patients with HIV.
- Other diseases as determined by the conclusion of a medical advisory commission.
Obtaining Medications
Medications based on medical cannabis can only be obtained with an electronic prescription issued by a primary care or specialized medical professional. All prescriptions will be recorded in the electronic health care system (EHCS).
Dosage and Prescriptions
Dosage and administration regimens will be determined individually by the physician, taking into account the patient’s age, weight, and health status. Medical cannabis will be prescribed in cases where other medications are ineffective or cause serious side effects.

The list of diseases and conditions is based on the latest research and evidence of effectiveness and will be periodically reviewed and expanded as new scientific data becomes available.
