Ukraine has launched a national awareness campaign ‘Of Course You Can!’ aimed at drawing attention to the gender pay gap. The campaign is being implemented by UN Women in Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
According to the organisers, only about half of working-age women in Ukraine are currently employed. The ‘Of Course You Can!’ campaign aims to emphasise the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for women’s professional development and employment in all areas.

In parallel with the information campaign, UN Women, together with the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, is implementing the She Drives project. This initiative aims to train and employ women bus drivers in different regions of the country, expanding their professional opportunities and contributing to the increase of women’s representation in the transport sector.
“The idea is to encourage women, to support them with the confidence that they can find a job. Of course, they can set up their own businesses and participate in economic life. So we are proud to be able to implement such a campaign together with the Ministry of Economy and the Office of the First Lady, with the support of the Swedish government,” says UN Women Representative in Ukraine Sabine Fraser Gunes.
