The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has updated the list of medicines available under the Affordable Medicines programme. Starting from 30 September 2024, patients will be able to receive 544 medicines free of charge or with a small co-payment, which is 55 more than before.
First Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Serhiy Dubrov told HMH that the list of medicines for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases (+12), mental and behavioural disorders, epilepsy (+45), and for people in the post-transplant period (+4) has been expanded the most. For the first time, the programme includes Fentanyl in the form of a transdermal patch.

The group of medicinal products for the treatment of mental and behavioural disorders and epilepsy, for which reimbursement will be provided, has also been significantly expanded, namely
- Phenobarbital,
- Levetiracetam,
- Quetiapine,
- Aripiprazole,
- Diazepam,
- Paroxetine,
- Sertraline,
- Escitalopram.
In addition, the list of medical devices subject to reimbursement has been updated. It now includes 45 blood glucose test strips.
The current lists of medicines and medical devices are available on the website of the Ministry of Health.
