Educational materials have been developed in Ukraine to support students with epilepsy in schools

In Ukraine, during the war, the number of epileptic seizures has increased due to heightened stress. Children with epilepsy often face bullying, misunderstanding, and delayed assistance in schools. This is why the public organization “Epiprosvita,” in collaboration with the online education studio EdEra, has developed specialized educational materials for teachers. The project “All About Epilepsy: Materials for Educators” aims to:

  • Inform about the disease and its symptoms.
  • Teach first aid methods during seizures.
  • Raise awareness and understanding of epilepsy among students and their parents.

Key components of the program include:

  • Instructions for recognizing and preventing seizures.
  • Methods for providing first aid.
  • Ready-made lessons about epilepsy.
  • Recommendations for communication with parents.
  • Materials to prevent bullying.
  • Illustrations to clarify myths about epilepsy.

The materials have been prepared based on international standards and are available for free on the EdEra website.

Every child has the right to quality education and support, regardless of their health condition. With these materials, teachers will be able to quickly navigate difficult situations, providing children with epilepsy the necessary assistance and creating a safe learning environment.
