An innovative solar power station with an energy storage system has been installed at the children’s hospital in Kharkiv, reports the Ministry of Health.
The 30 kW solar power station and the 43 kWh backup power system ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for the palliative and rehabilitation departments, as well as the neurology ward.
Overall, this is the 86th Ukrainian medical facility equipped with a solar power station.
The installation was supported by international partners, including SolarPower Europe, the Solar Support Ukraine initiative, and others. Special thanks go to Raasay Community Renewables and the students of Raasay Primary School (Scotland) for their fundraising efforts, as well as to the Repower Ukraine charitable foundation, which implemented the project.
The Ministry of Health team expresses gratitude to all the partners involved in ensuring the hospitals’ energy independence.
