Nearly 80% of first‑grade families have already applied for the state payment “School Child Package” – currently covering almost 190,000 children, reported the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.

“School Child Package” is a one‑time payment of 5,000 UAH for families whose children entered first grade this year. Applications can be submitted until November 1.
Funds can be spent in offline and online stores with payment terminals that have the specified MCC codes – both in large retail chains and in individual sole‑proprietorships. Withdrawing cash from the card or transferring funds to another card is not possible.
The Ministry of Social Policy has developed a single list of 30 MCC codes for all targeted “child” payments. Since August, families can apply for these payments – “Baby Package”, “School Child Package”, assistance for caring for a child under one year, and “eYasla” – to a single special account “Child Care” within the “Diia Card” program.
Businesses can join the program without additional requirements – it is enough to have a payment terminal with an allowed MCC code. Stores can display an informational sticker from the Ministry of Social Policy so that customers know about the possibility of paying with “child” payments.
