Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko explained how the capital metro and bridges across the Dnipro will operate during yellow and red threat levels.

How the metro will run on open sections during an air alert:

During the yellow threat level, the Siretsko-Pecherska line will run without restrictions; trains will continue to cross the Southern Bridge in both directions – from the left bank to the right and vice versa.

At the red threat level, the green branch will operate in two separate sections:

  • from “Sirets” to “Vidubichi”;
  • from “Slavutych” to “Chervony Khutir”.

The Syhtoshynsko-Brovarska line will continue to operate in a restricted mode – trains will run on the underground section from “Akademmistechko” to “Arsenalna”.

Surface public transport will move without restrictions, and the replacement bus route will continue to duplicate part of the red branch – from the “Palace of Sports” metro station through “Arsenalna” to “Lysova”.

How transport will move across bridges over the Dnipro during an alert:

The Southern Bridge will remain open without restrictions during the alert, but will have a technological closure for half an hour after its announcement and half an hour after the counter‑measure. Access to the bridge from Saperno-Slobidskyi and Mykhailo Boychuk streets will be closed during the alert.

The Darnytskyi Bridge, Paton Bridge, Metro Bridge and Northern Bridge will operate in normal mode.

The Podilskyi-Voskresenskyi bridge crossing will have the same technological closure for half an hour after the alert announcement and counter‑measure, and traffic on it will be switched to reverse mode.
