The first industrial park has been funded under a state program designed to stimulate the development of industrial parks as part of the “Made in Ukraine” policy, according to the Ministry of Economy.
The program provides funding of up to 150 million UAH to support the construction of necessary infrastructure. The funds are granted on a non-repayable basis, covering up to 50% of the estimated cost of works, such as site development or the construction of engineering and transport infrastructure. The program also offers compensation of up to 50% of the cost for connecting to the electrical grid. For de-occupied territories, the state covers 80% of the cost.
The first to receive such funding is the industrial park in Dnipro. The park’s managing company applied for 150 million UAH out of the required 326.9 million UAH needed for the construction of a transformer substation.
To protect state interests, safeguards have been established: applicants must construct at least 5,000 square meters of industrial buildings on the park’s territory within three years and attract at least two participants. Funding is provided through escrow accounts in state banks, allowing the selection of the most convenient bank for servicing.
Support from state banks ensures transparency in the funding process and allows businesses to choose the most suitable servicing conditions.
This year, the state budget has for the first time allocated funds for stimulating industrial parks. This initiative is a response to the challenges posed by the full-scale Russian invasion. Overall, the Ukrainian budget has allocated one billion UAH for this program.
The Ministry of Economy’s partners in implementing the program include Ukreximbank, Oschadbank, and Ukrgazbank.
