The United Nations Development Program in Ukraine has announced a recruitment for a free course on humanitarian demining. The course provides an opportunity to acquire a civilian specialty “Sapper – Humanitarian Demining”, which remains one of the most in-demand professions in the country’s post-war reconstruction.
Veterans, members of families of military personnel, as well as families of fallen Defenders from the Mykolaiv region can participate. A mandatory condition for admission is a confirmed status of a participant according to current legislation.
The training lasts eight weeks and combines theoretical and practical training. Classes will be held in Kyiv. Participants will receive full support for the entire period of the course – free accommodation, food, and financial support. After completing the course, graduates will receive a state-standard certificate, which opens up the possibility of further employment in the field of demining.
Humanitarian demining has become particularly important for Ukraine, as a significant part of the country’s territory remains contaminated with explosive objects. The training of new specialists helps to accelerate the clearance of lands and their return to safe use.
Applications for participation are submitted through an online form. Registration is open until August 25.
