The British government has opened applications for Chevening scholarships for Ukrainian citizens who wish to pursue their education in the United Kingdom. Applications can be submitted until October 6, 2026, 11:00 UTC. This concerns the 2027-2028 academic year.
Chevening is an international scholarship program of the UK government, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) along with partner organizations. The program offers promising future leaders the opportunity to continue their education at British universities to later work on changes in areas important to both the UK and their countries.
The scholarship covers one-year taught master’s programs. Candidates are advised to search for suitable courses at British institutions through the official program search on the Chevening website.
To be eligible for the scholarship, one must meet the selection criteria, prepare a compelling application, have an active email address and phone number. The organizers also emphasize the importance of a unique access code to the online system, which will be required at each stage of the application process.
Chevening also draws the attention of applicants to additional opportunities. Program partners offer separate scholarships each year, some of which remain unclaimed. Due to the smaller number of applicants for a partner award, this may increase the candidate’s chances of being selected.
The Ukrainian Chevening community is already showing the results of the work of its graduates in their home country. Among them are specialists who, after studying in the UK, returned to Ukraine and joined the country’s recovery, management reform, and sustainable leadership development in the face of war. The network of program graduates works on climate action, economic well-being, and post-conflict recovery.
