This morning, August 6, the Russian army attacked the Lozova railway station in Kharkiv region with a drone, Ukrzaliznytsia reported.
Currently, two men are known to have been killed. Eight people were injured – five men and three women, including serious injuries, noted the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi. He specified that the dead and injured are railway workers.
The station building, contact network, and rolling stock were damaged. All services of Ukrzaliznytsia and rescuers are working at the scene.
The station has shelters. A heightened alert was declared in advance, and a command to immediately take shelter was issued in a timely manner. Currently, a detailed investigation of all circumstances of the tragedy is underway to determine what prevented the saving of people’s lives.
