The average pension in Ukraine is 7,273 UAH – about $163, according to Opendatabot.
The number of pensioners has decreased by 190,500 people since the beginning of the year – more than in all of 2025. As of July 1, there are 9,976,619 pensioners in Ukraine. In the second quarter of the year, their number decreased by 74,396 people.
Every fourth pensioner receives about 3,500 UAH – less than half of the average indicator. At the same time, almost a third receive payments higher than the average: 3.2 million people have more than 7,000 UAH, and half a million of them have more than 20,000 UAH per month.
The highest pensions are recorded in Kyiv – 9,901 UAH, which is 36% more than the average in the country. In the Donetsk region, the average pension is 8,990 UAH, in the Luhansk region – 8,752 UAH.
The lowest payments are in the Ternopil region (5,657 UAH), Chernivtsi region (5,839 UAH), and Zakarpattia region (5,918 UAH), where pensions are 19-22% lower than the average.
Every fourth pensioner, or 2.8 million people, continues to work – their average pension is 7,994 UAH.
