Key points
- The cost of travel on the Kyiv City Express will increase to the level of Kyiv public transport tariffs from July 22.
- Tickets will cost from 30 to 37 UAH, depending on the payment method.
- Season tickets will be introduced for regular passengers to save on travel.
- The reason is the increase in costs for maintaining trains and Kyiv’s debt to Ukrzaliznytsia for preferential passengers, which has exceeded 10 million UAH.
- All existing benefits are preserved – for students, veterans, and pensioners.
The cost of a single trip on the Kyiv City Express will increase to the level of Kyiv public transport tariffs from July 22, Ukrzaliznytsia reported.
Tickets will cost:
- 30 UAH in Ukrzaliznytsia applications and “Kyiv Digital”;
- 34.20 UAH – through validators or self-service terminals “Kyiv Digital”;
- 36.70 UAH – at Ukrzaliznytsia self-service terminals;
- 37 UAH – at ticket offices or from a conductor in the car.

For passengers who regularly use the city train, season tickets will be introduced, which will allow them to save on daily trips. The team is currently working on implementing this decision.
Maintaining and repairing trains, ensuring their operation, and paying for electricity is becoming increasingly expensive. The income from ticket sales is no longer enough to cover these costs.
– Ukrzaliznytsia.
The situation is complicated by the fact that since 2021, Kyiv has not compensated Ukrzaliznytsia for the costs of transporting preferential categories of passengers. Since the beginning of 2026, this debt has exceeded 10 million UAH.
All existing benefits are preserved: students will be able to buy tickets with a discount in the Ukrzaliznytsia application, and veterans and pensioners will be able to receive free travel documents at ticket offices.
