The government expanded the list of goods and services that can be purchased with the one-time payment of 5,000 UAH under the ‘School Package’ program.
Previously, the funds were allowed to be spent mainly on preparation for school – clothes, shoes, backpacks, books, and stationery.
Now the payment can also be directed to the payment of goods and services in:
- supermarkets;
- electronics stores;
- pharmacies;
- sports clubs and sections;
- institutions providing educational services;
- children’s entertainment centers;
- museums;
- parks;
- circuses.
Purchases can be paid for both offline and online, if the seller uses the corresponding bank MCC codes.
The payment is made to a special Diia.Card. If the application is submitted through the ‘Diia’ app, the funds are credited within 14 days after confirmation.
Citizens who apply for assistance through the Pension Fund bodies and do not have a special account are offered to open it in the Oschadbank.
The funds are targeted – it is impossible to transfer them to another account or receive them in cash, payment is made only non-cash through a special account.
The restriction on the term of use of the payment has also been canceled – previously, families had to spend the funds within a certain period, now there is no such term, and parents can plan expenses throughout the school year. If the special account is closed, the unspent funds will be returned to the Pension Fund.
