During a night Russian attack on Odesa, a volunteer and first aid instructor of the Ukrainian Red Cross, Olena Arkhipova, was killed.

At the time of the strike, she was rushing to a shelter with her three children. The children survived and are receiving all necessary assistance.

Olena was raising her children alone. She joined the Ukrainian Red Cross team in 2023 as a first aid instructor, and since 2026 has also been teaching pre-medical aid to animals.

On the very day of her death, she was supposed to start training to become an instructor in first aid for people with physical disabilities.

She lived in Odesa and conducted first aid training for employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Police, and civilians – adults and children.

Olena also participated in other humanitarian initiatives of the Odesa Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
