The Ministry of Education and Science has announced a competition for young scientists 2026 – the winners will receive funding from the state budget starting from 2027.
The first stage will take place from June 16 to August 6, 2026. Higher education institutions and scientific institutions will review the projects at a meeting of the academic council, and then submit them to the National Electronic Scientific and Information System.
Documents must be submitted to the System by August 6, 2026, 13:00 Kyiv time.
From August 7 to October 15, 2026, the Ministry of Education and Science will process and verify all submitted materials.
The project must be formalized according to the form in Annex 7 to the Requirements. It must include a cover letter with a list of research, a copy of the order for the first stage of the competition, an excerpt from the minutes of the meeting of the academic council, and a certificate from the State Border Service for the period from June 1, 2025, to June 1, 2026.
If the institution has attracted funds from other sources, it is also necessary to provide a certificate from the accounting department about these funds.
If the project is planned to be implemented on the basis of a center for shared use of scientific equipment, a copy of the order of the Ministry of Education and Science on the creation of the center, the rules for accessing the equipment, and a link to the service for remote ordering of research must be uploaded to the System.
