In June, as a result of Russian strikes in Ukraine, at least 265 civilians were killed, and 1,816 people were injured – one of the highest monthly casualty figures among the civilian population since the start of the full-scale invasion. This is reported by Reuters, citing the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo.

A record number of civilian casualties was recorded in May – 274 people were killed, and 1,763 were injured.

In total, since the start of the full-scale war, the UN has confirmed the deaths of at least 16,402 civilians, including 802 children. 48,428 people have been injured.

The UN notes that the actual number of victims is likely to be significantly higher than the confirmed number.

In March, the number of civilian casualties increased sharply – by almost 49% compared to February. At least 211 people were killed, and 1,206 were injured.
