In the first half of 2026, in Ukraine, 79,516 marriages were registered, of which 30,488 were online. The share of electronic marriages was 38.3% of the total number.
This indicates a growing popularity of electronic marriage registration. During 2025, the authorities of state registration of civil status acts recorded 165,587 marriage records, and only 18.4% of them were formalized online.
The online marriage registration service is implemented by three digital offices of the Ministry of Justice – in Kyiv, Lviv, and Dnipro, which allows Ukrainians to conclude marriages remotely, regardless of their location.
The first digital office of the state registration of civil status acts of the Kyiv interregional department of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine started working in September 2024. Since then, 36,823 online marriages have been registered there.
In September 2025, the digital offices of the Ministry of Justice in Lviv and Dnipro joined the project. As of July 1, 2026, 8,224 marriages have been formalized online in Lviv, and 17,239 in Dnipro.
In total, since the start of the digital offices of the Ministry of Justice, as of July 1, 2026, 62,286 marriages have been registered electronically.
