Ministry of Education increased regional coefficient for entrants in eight front-line regions

Ministry of Education updated regional coefficients used in calculating the competitive score of entrants to higher education institutions in eight regions.

The coefficient of 1.07 has been established for universities in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. For institutions of higher education in Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and Chernihiv regions, the coefficient of 1.04 will apply.

The regional coefficient is taken into account when calculating the competitive score of the entrant. It is applied depending on the actual location of the institution of higher education to which the entrant applies.

Entrants who choose universities in the respective regions will receive an additional increase in their competitive score.

According to the Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovy, the state consciously supports universities that continue to operate in front-line regions.

The Ministry of Education notes that the update of regional coefficients is intended to support institutions of higher education that operate in conditions of increased security challenges and to stimulate entrants to choose universities in these regions.
