Key points

Over the past half year, 82 mobile medical brigades of the Ukrainian Red Cross made 8,064 visits to 2,619 settlements across Ukraine.

During this period, medics provided almost 144,000 consultations to people of different age categories.

The brigades continue to operate in 20 regions, including the most remote areas of all front-line regions. Depending on the settlement, up to 10-30 people can visit a brigade per visit.

Each brigade consists of a family doctor and one or two medical nurses. They conduct examinations and medical consultations, monitor the health of people, and provide them with over-the-counter medications of general therapeutic action if necessary.

The schedules and routes of visits are formed by the chief doctors of the primary medical and sanitary care centers based on the requests and current needs of the communities. Employees of rural first-aid posts and community elders inform residents in advance about the day and time of the nearest brigade’s arrival.
