In Odesa, on the basis of one of the medical institutions, the first Space of Care for veterans and veteran women was opened in the region. The Space will become a place of support for defenders who are undergoing treatment or rehabilitation after injuries.
The opening was attended by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko, the Minister for Veterans Affairs Nataliia Kalmikova, her deputy, veteran Ruslan Prykhodko, the Minister of Health Viktor Liashko, veterans, representatives of the medical institution, the public sector, and business.
The premises for the Space were completely renovated and equipped with modern equipment. Separate zones for consultations, communication, and rest have been set up here.
Particular attention was paid to accessibility – from convenient access to the premises to clear navigation and comfortable receipt of services for veterans, veteran women, and their family members.
Currently, one support specialist for veterans is working in the Space, and in the future, the team is planned to be expanded to three specialists.
Across Ukraine, more than 460 support specialists for veterans are already working in hospitals. With the support of partners, Spaces of Care have been created in over 20 medical institutions, where veterans can receive services and communicate with their comrades.
The project is being implemented by the Ministry for Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in partnership with the public organization “Association of Veterans and Wounded Military Personnel “Strong 300″” with the support of PrivatBank.
