Russia launched a massive overnight attack on Kyiv, killing 10 people and injuring 43, including two children, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The most significant destruction was recorded in the Podilskyi district, where debris and explosions damaged at least five residential buildings, including a nine-story building where there was a destruction of structures from the 5th to the 9th floors. Rescuers evacuated 17 residents and saved another 28 people from the upper floors using a ladder.
In the same district, there was a partial destruction of the roof of a 19-story building, a fire in the roof and elevator shaft, and cars caught fire in the courtyard of a residential building.
In a 21-story building, the structures from the 2nd to the 5th floors were destroyed – rescuers continue to search for people under the rubble.
In the Darnytskyi district, debris damaged two 25-story buildings – in one, the 4th floor was damaged, and in the other, about 150 square meters of living space were burned out. Nearby, part of a garage cooperative was burned, and a fire occurred on the 23-25th floors of a 30-story building.
In the Holosiivskyi district, a non-residential building caught fire, and in the Obolonskyi district, a fire is being extinguished in a storage facility.
In total, at least 15 residential buildings in four districts of the capital were damaged or destroyed.
Rescuers, police, and psychologists are working at the scenes of the attacks. The data on the number of victims and the scale of destruction is being clarified.
