In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, as a result of a nighttime attack by the Russian Federation, part of a residential high-rise building was destroyed, reported Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.
Rescuers from the State Emergency Service pulled seven people from under the rubble. One person died directly in the destroyed building.
Six people are still considered missing. Among them is a 15-year-old girl and her family.
The search and rescue operation at the site is ongoing. Rescuers are using special devices to detect heartbeats and search dogs.
The area where the work is being carried out and the damaged building are being guarded by the police. In the deployed operational headquarters, investigators are accepting statements from the victims.
As a result of the nighttime attack on Kyiv, 13 people were killed, and almost 90 were injured. Damage was recorded in all districts of the city, with over 20 residential buildings affected.
