Deputy rectors of Ukrainian HEIs can join the DOWIRA lead leadership development program

The British Council announced an open competition for the DOWIRA Lead leadership trajectory for deputy rectors of Ukrainian higher education institutions.

Deputy rectors who are responsible for strategic development, transformation, or management of the university, have the authority to implement institutional changes, and are interested in promoting gender equality are invited to participate. Only one participant can be selected from one institution.

Participants will undergo a leadership development program and develop a strategic institutional project aimed at promoting gender equality in their university. They will also form a team of 4 colleagues to participate in the DOWIRA Rise program and will act as mentors for it.

Applications will be evaluated based on leadership experience, motivation, willingness to implement changes, commitment to the principles of gender equality, and potential for project implementation. Candidates who make the shortlist will be invited for an interview.

To participate, you need to fill out an online application and attach a letter of support from the rector of the institution. Applications without such a letter will not be considered.

An information session for candidates will be held on July 2 at 15:00 Kyiv time on the Microsoft Teams platform.

Apply by July 12, 2026. Interviews are scheduled for July 27 – August 7, and the selection results will be announced on August 10.
