Graduates of bachelor’s programs in music can get a master’s or postgraduate education in Germany with a DAAD scholarship, which provides a payment of 992 euros per month.
In addition to the monthly payment, the scholarship includes:
- reimbursement of travel expenses to Germany and back;
- medical insurance;
- a one-time payment for educational materials;
- a German language course.
If necessary, DAAD compensates for the language exam TestDaF or DSH.
Graduates of a bachelor’s degree in music, singing, conducting, and composition can participate. Candidates must be admitted to a German university before the start of the scholarship and confirm their knowledge of the language of instruction with a relevant certificate.
An application can be submitted if no more than 6 years have passed since the diploma was obtained. The scholarship is not available to those who have lived in Germany for more than 15 months or are already studying there for a master’s or doctoral degree.
Master’s and postgraduate programs last from 10 to 24 months, additional courses without a degree – one academic year. Payments will start on October 1, 2027, and language courses can be taken earlier.
Applications are submitted through the DAAD online portal until September 24, 2026. The program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
