The book ‘Kiy and Time Consumers’ won an award at the IV International Competition of Illustrators for Children’s and Youth Books named after Radna Sakhaltyeva – one of the most prestigious in Ukraine in the field of book graphics and design.

The artistic works created for this book became finalists in two nominations. Dmytro Kryvonos was awarded for a series of graphic images for the text, and Oleksandr Nesterenko – for the design of the publication and cover.

Illustrations for the book ‘Kiy and Time Consumers’ amaze with their monochromicity, detail, and dynamics of grotesque character design. The artist managed to create expressive images that not only complement the text but also form their own emotional and visual narrative.

‘Kiy and Time Consumers’ is the second novel in the saga ‘Epic Adventures of Mythical Heroes in the Multiverse’ by writer Nik Lysytskyi.

The first part – ‘Kiy and the Frosty Horde’ – has sold over 10,000 copies in a short time and entered the shortlist of the All-Ukrainian rating ‘Book of the Year 2024’.

The events of the books take place in a new Ukrainian-centric universe – the Multiverse, the heart of which is the Visible World, the home of heroes of Ukrainian myths and legends. In the second part, readers, along with Kiy and his friends, go beyond the Visible World – to the Scandinavian and Greek mythological worlds, as well as to the mysterious Time World.

The idea of the saga arose during the author’s work on the initiative to preserve Ukrainian mythology ‘Magical World UA’.

Earlier, Nik Lysytskyi created a YouTube show about Ukrainian mythology, wrote a script for an animated series, developed a board game, and a mobile app with augmented reality. According to the author’s plan, the series will consist of at least 7 books.
