The European Commission has opened applications for the Youth4Regions exchange program for student journalists and young media professionals from Ukraine.
The program provides an opportunity to visit Brussels, learn about EU policy in different regions, visit European media editorial offices, and meet with well-known journalists.
Participants will also take part in press tours, and the organizers will provide accreditation for events and cover travel expenses.
The trip will last 7 days — from October 10 to 16. In addition to accommodation, food, and transportation, the program includes training in journalism and EU regional policy, mentoring by Ukrainian journalists, and networking with alumni.
Participants will visit European editorial offices and EU institutions and work with journalists during the European Week of Regions and Cities. The best will be able to compete for the Megalizzi – Niedzielski award for young journalists.
Applications can be submitted by persons aged 18 to 30 who are citizens of Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, or one of the EU countries, study at a journalism faculty, or have up to three years of experience in the field and have not previously participated in Youth4Regions.
To participate, you need to send a completed application, a resume, and an article of 500–800 words or a photo or video report of 2–3 minutes about a project co-financed by the Cohesion Policy or the European Solidarity Fund.
Applications are accepted until July 7 — they must be filled out in English.
The competitive work can be prepared in any of the 24 official languages of the EU, and a short annotation in English should be added to the video in another language.
The jury will not consider applications written by artificial intelligence, and the results will be announced on August 14.
