In Kharkiv, a rescuer of the SES Mykola Derkach, who received severe injuries during the repeated Russian strike on the night of June 15, died in the hospital. He became the sixth person to die as a result of this attack, reported in the SES.
Mykola Derkach was the chief of the guard of the 6th state fire and rescue unit, a major of the civil protection service. He was 48 years old.
The rescuer received the injury at the scene, when the Russians launched a repeated strike on the city. For several days, doctors fought for his life, but in the morning he died.
As a result of the shelling, rescuers Dmytro Boiko, Danylo Tishchenko, Serhii Makovetskyi, and Vadym Zinchenko, as well as the chief specialist of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Kharkiv City Council, Oleksiy Dorozhkin, also died.
The man left behind a daughter and a mother.
