Ministry of Education explained, what to do for entrants who lost their general secondary education document and are preparing to enter in 2026.

A document on general secondary education is mandatory for admission to professional and vocational colleges and institutions of higher education. However, for enrollment, the presence of the document’s requisites in the register is needed, not the duplicate itself.

Therefore, if the requisites are known – for example, displayed in the “Diia” application, – it is recommended to submit a request for document recovery after enrollment. Otherwise, the record of the lost document in the register may be canceled, and a new one has not yet been formed, and admission will not take place.

Exception – a document on complete general secondary education issued before 2000: without a duplicate, admission becomes impossible.

An application for a duplicate is submitted to the institution that issued the document. This can be done by the owner or their legal representative.

If the institution is located in temporarily occupied territories or in a combat zone, you can contact any general secondary education institution of the corresponding level at the place of actual residence.

If the series and document number are known, the document’s details can be obtained from the EDEBO Register of Educational Documents — in the form of an extract bearing a qualified electronic signature. The technical administrator of the database is the State Enterprise “Inforesurs”, which provides information about educational documents but not duplicates of them.

If the serial number and number are unknown, you can request this information from “Inforesurs” by submitting an application and a certified copy of your passport.

The response to the request is provided within 30 calendar days from the date of its receipt.
