Ukraine received the next batches of medical humanitarian aid worth over UAH 188 million from partners in nine countries. The aid came from Finland, Austria, Denmark, Poland, Norway, India, the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy.
The deliveries involved the governments of partner countries, international and charitable organizations, as well as representatives of the pharmaceutical sector.
The resources are aimed at supporting healthcare institutions, ensuring the continuity of patient treatment, and developing emergency, inpatient, and preventive medical care.
Ukraine received:
- antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial medications;
- means for providing emergency care and treating certain acute conditions.
A separate area is the prevention of infectious diseases. UNICEF delivered vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis, as well as inactivated poliovirus vaccine to Ukraine under an agreement between the Ministry of Health and GAVI.
Partners also handed over means for diagnosing tuberculosis infection, which helps to detect the disease in time and determine further treatment tactics. Medical institutions received equipment, medical products, and consumables for the work of inpatient departments and the protection of medical workers.
Some of the aid was provided by the governments of partner countries:
- Finland handed over medicines and medical products;
- Austria provided medical products for patient care;
- Norway handed over ambulance vehicles;
- Denmark provided means of individual protection for medics;
- Poland provided functional medical beds.
