As a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the roof of the Assumption Cathedral caught fire – the fire covered an area of about 800 m² of the roof.

Preliminarily, the fire was caused by a direct hit. Rescuers are eliminating the consequences, and experts are assessing the scale of the destruction.

Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is under enhanced international protection under the Second Protocol to the 1954 Hague Convention.

Its attack is one of the most serious crimes against world cultural heritage.

After the attack, the territory of the Lavra was temporarily closed to visitors.

The Mystetskyi Arsenal – National Cultural and Art Museum Complex opposite the Lavra was also damaged.

Russia’s attack also damaged the National Film Studio named after Alexander Dovzhenko.

Due to the hit, the costume workshop caught fire, where about 100,000 costumes and almost three million units of clothing were stored – the largest and oldest such collection in Ukraine. Other buildings of the film studio were also damaged.

Due to the night shelling, the House of Organ and Chamber Music in Dnipro was also damaged.
