Rescued lion tamarins moved to open zone of KyivZoo – photo

KyivZoo has set up a new enclosure for the group of lion tamarins and relocated them from the service area to the open zone for visitors, according to the KCSA.

The animals were rescued by zoo volunteers in 2017 and transferred to the zoo for rehabilitation. Initially, the group lived in a spacious enclosure on the service area.

Over several years, the tamarins have adapted and increased in number. For further socialization, they needed new living conditions.

In the new space, the following have been installed:

  • wooden structures;
  • climbing frames made of branches;
  • ladders and ropes;
  • feeding table;
  • refreshing fountain;
  • monkey house with observation glass.

The tamarins can be seen in the lower park of KyivZoo. The entrance to the zoo is open until 17:00, and visitors can stay on the territory until 18:30.
