The Verkhovna Rada voted for changes to the state budget, which for the first time in a decade will allow raising the salaries of Chornobyl NPP employees to the level of personnel at operating nuclear power plants in Ukraine. This was reported by the State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management.
Additional funding under the relevant budget program amounts to UAH 525 million. The funds are allocated in three areas:
- UAH 306 million – for increasing the salaries of ChNPP personnel to the level established by Law No. 309-XIV.
- UAH 67.3 million – for payments to station personnel;
- UAH 151.7 million – for electricity payments.
According to the law, the salary of ChNPP employees must not be lower than the average for corresponding professions and positions at operating NPPs in Ukraine.
The decision was the result of an initiative by the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy Denis Shmygal and the joint work of the profile committees of the Verkhovna Rada.
