On June 10, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the increase in salaries of police and rescuers of the State Emergency Service – 269 MPs voted for this decision.

According to the document, their monetary provision cannot be lower than 10 living wages per month. Currently, one living wage for able-bodied persons is 3,328 UAH, which means the minimum payment is 33,280 UAH.

The monetary provision includes a position salary, a salary for a special rank, a bonus for years of service, a bonus, and other payments, including permanent and one-time payments, which are determined by the Cabinet of Ministers. Mandatory indexation is also provided for in accordance with the law.

The new accrual terms will come into effect on January 1, 2027.

For police officers who are temporarily serving outside Ukraine, payment in the national currency has been preserved – they will also receive a bonus in foreign currency according to the norms of the Cabinet of Ministers.
