The government has allocated UAH 2.3 billion for the preparation of educational institutions for the 2026/2027 heating season – the funds will be received by schools, colleges, and universities.
Schools have been allocated almost UAH 500 million for backup power systems, batteries, solar power plants, and other equipment to ensure energy independence.
Institutions of higher education will receive UAH 417 million:
- UAH 217 million will be allocated for payment of utility services;
- UAH 200 million – for preparation of more than 80 largest colleges for the heating season.
Universities will have UAH 875 million for cogeneration units, solar power plants, energy storage systems, and utility services, and another UAH 500 million – for restoration of damaged institutions, arrangement of shelters, and procurement of equipment.
The goal of the funding is to ensure an uninterrupted educational process in all educational institutions during the next heating season.
