Today, June 5, around noon, as a result of Russian shelling in the Kherson region, three vehicles of the Ukrainian Red Cross rapid response team were damaged.
One volunteer suffered a concussion and was taken to the hospital.
The damaged vehicles are involved in evacuating civilians, transporting the wounded and people with limited mobility, as well as responding to shelling sites to provide first aid. The volunteers’ personal vehicles were also damaged during the attack.
The Ukrainian Red Cross condemned the shelling of civilian infrastructure and transport clearly marked with the Red Cross emblem.
Such actions are a direct violation of international humanitarian law. Medical transport, humanitarian aid, and people who save lives cannot be targets for attacks.

Despite this, volunteers continue their humanitarian mission in the Kherson region.
