The Coordination Headquarters, on the instruction of the President of Ukraine, conducted the 75th exchange of prisoners: 185 servicemen and 1 civilian were released from Russian captivity – a total of 186 people.
The civilian was in captivity since 2022. Most of the released servicemen also fell into captivity that year – some of them during the defense of Mariupol.
Among those released are fighters from the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
- representatives of the Naval Forces;
- Ground Forces;
- Airborne Assault Troops;
- Territorial Defense;
- Special Operations Forces and Military Law Enforcement Service;
- National Guard of Ukraine and State Border Guard Service.
Defenders who fought on the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kyiv, and Kursk fronts have returned home.
The youngest of the released is 26 years old, and the oldest is 62. Among them are two officers and a participant in the helicopter operation of the air bridge to “Azovstal”.
All released prisoners will undergo medical examination, receive treatment, be provided with necessary things for the first time, receive due payments, undergo rehabilitation and reintegration into society after a long period of isolation in Russian captivity.
