The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine introduced a new module “Cabinet of the Ministry of Health (SME)” in the Unified Register of Missing Persons under special circumstances. It allows authorized employees of forensic medical examination institutions to directly enter post-mortem information about unidentified bodies and remains into the register.
The service was introduced on the initiative of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under special circumstances, in cooperation with the State Enterprise “Infotech”, which ensures the functioning of the register.
The module includes: the date of receipt of the body or remains to the forensic medical examination institution, the results of the post-mortem examination, distinctive features, clothing, shoes, and personal belongings. It also provides for the possibility of adding photo materials.
That is why we once again emphasize the importance of submitting and filling out questionnaires for missing persons under special circumstances.

Every detail can be crucial: tattoos, scars, features, items, documents, jewelry, clothing elements, or other characteristics. The information specified in the questionnaire can become key during identification and help families get the answers they are waiting for.
The main goal of the new tool is to accelerate the identification process and ensure the possibility of comparing post-mortem data with the information already in the register.
