Vinnytsia College of Service Sphere introduced barrier-free education for students with hearing and speech impairments who are studying to become chefs.
The institution has involved sign language interpreters, adapted educational programs, and introduced new approaches to organizing the educational process.
Each student with a disability has a pedagogical assistant, and if needed, the help of a sign language interpreter. Teachers undergo relevant training, taking into account the peculiarities of information perception by such students.
The college is equipped with a special HORECA space – fully barrier-free for movement and interaction.
The entire educational complex was designed from the start according to the principles of barrier-free accessibility: accessible approaches to the building, classrooms, and sanitary facilities.
A separate direction of the institution’s work is the preparation of specialists in the hospitality sector with an understanding of the principles of accessibility and quality service for all visitors.
The project was implemented as part of the EU4Skills initiative: modernization of the infrastructure of the vocational and technical education system in Ukraine, with the support of the German Development Bank KfW, the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund, and the Ministry of Education and Science.
