The Ukrainian Veterans’ Fund of the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs launched the competitive program “Worth it: Recipe for Care” – veterans and veteran women who develop or plan to start a business in the field of school nutrition can receive from 500,000 to 3,000,000 UAH.
Application acceptance began on June 2 and will last until June 17, 2026, inclusive. The winners will be announced on July 23.
Subjects of veteran entrepreneurship are allowed to participate: individual entrepreneurs, self-employed individuals, and legal entities where veterans are the ultimate beneficial owners.
A mandatory condition is activity in the field of organizing nutrition for general secondary education institutions or the intention to develop it.
The competitive selection involves technical verification of documents, expert evaluation of projects, and open defense before the expert council.
The program was presented at the Culinary Center of the MHP in the Kyiv region. The event was attended by the Minister of Veterans’ Affairs Natalia Kalmykova, the Executive Director of the Fund Oleg Oliva, and the veteran entrepreneur Dmitry Konstantinov, who is already implementing a school nutrition project in the Ternopil region.
The initiative is related to the expansion of the school nutrition reform: from September 2026, free hot meals should be received by students of all classes – this will increase the demand for catering and outsourcing services.
Currently, almost 2 million children are covered by nutrition, and over 1,700 dining facilities have been modernized.
