As a result of the Russian night attack on Dnipro, 9 people were killed, and 37 others were injured, reported the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.
Among the dead is a boy born in 2023: the child’s body was retrieved from under the rubble of the destroyed four-story building.
A rescuer from the State Emergency Service also died – the deputy chief of the fire and rescue unit, Major Anton Yarmolenko. He was on his way to a call when the Russians struck again at the scene of the units’ work.
Among the 37 victims – four children. Two boys aged 6 and 16 and a 13-year-old girl are in the hospital in a state of moderate severity. A 14-year-old girl is undergoing outpatient treatment.
22 people remain in hospitals, 4 of them in serious condition.
In the city, a two-story and a four-story multi-apartment residential building were partially destroyed, an enterprise was damaged, garages and cars were destroyed. The blast wave shattered windows in the fire and rescue station. The fires that broke out were extinguished by rescuers.
A search and rescue operation is ongoing: according to the data of the State Emergency Service, people are likely to be under the rubble of the destroyed four-story building. Dog handlers and psychologists are working on the scene. 6 people have been reported missing.
Two more civilians and a rescuer were injured in Kamyansk in Dnipropetrovsk region that same night. There, as a result of the attack, a five-story residential building caught fire, and an administrative building and a one-story residential building were damaged.
