The Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service has turned 34 – the unit was established on June 1, 1992, in accordance with order No. 25 of the National Committee of the organization.
The Service is part of the Global Network of Family Links of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Its main task is to search for people and restore contacts between relatives who lost contact due to armed conflicts, natural disasters, and other emergencies. The unit’s activities are based on the norms of international humanitarian law.
In its work, the Service uses modern search technologies and cooperates with state archives, ministries, government and non-governmental structures in Ukraine.
Today, the Service team consists of 25 professionals. Despite the constant introduction of new search methods, the organization emphasizes: technologies do not replace the human factor – intuition, patience, and meticulous work with information. These are the factors that determine the result of each search.
