Kyiv Zoo has returned a flock of rescued Jaco parrots to the summer aviary, which have been under their care since 2022.
These birds were handed over to the zoo by police officers in the spring of 2022. Since then, the Jaco parrots have been undergoing a long process of rehabilitation, adaptation, and socialization under the care of zoologists and veterinarians.
In the wild, the Jaco parrot population continues to decline.

For the comfort and active leisure of the birds, the aviary has been equipped with branches, seedlings, feeders, ladders, swings, a sandbox, rope bridges, and a decorative pool-fountain.
The birds can be seen every day near the flamingo lake.
