The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, which simplifies the receipt of the status of a person with a disability due to war and a member of the family of a fallen defender, as well as the issuance of veteran certificates.

Changes are designed to make procedures simpler, faster, and more convenient for veterans, families of fallen defenders, and their relatives.

In the application for granting the status of a person with a disability due to war or a member of the family of a fallen defender, you can now immediately indicate the desire to receive a paper certificate of a veteran. This applies to applications submitted in electronic form as well.

Family members of fallen defenders will be able to submit applications for granting status through the Center for Providing Administrative Services in electronic form, regardless of their declared or registered place of residence or stay.

At the same time, restrictions on the form of submission of an extract from the information and analytical system of accounting for information on bringing a person to criminal responsibility and the presence of a conviction are being lifted.

The list of documents for establishing the status of a family member of a fallen defender is supplemented with a copy of the protocol of the meeting of the permanent military medical commission. If necessary, this document can be requested by the local structural subdivision for veterans’ policy issues.

Separately, the grounds for granting status to family members of persons who have been declared missing, dead, or whose death has been established by a court decision have been clarified.

In such cases, military medical expertise is no longer required – the basis for granting status will be the relevant court decision.
