The Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, together with the World Congress of Ukrainians (WCU), launch the global campaign “Vyshyvanka Unites” to mark the 20th anniversary of World Vyshyvanka Day.
This year, World Vyshyvanka Day will be celebrated on May 21.
You can join the campaign in several ways:
- global flash mob: on May 21, publish a photo in a vyshyvanka on social media with the hashtag #VyshyvankaUnites and indicate your city and country;
- continuity of generations: publish archival family photos in vyshyvankas alongside modern photos and add the hashtag #VyshyvankaUnites, demonstrating the continuity of Ukrainian tradition.
Such joint initiatives are valuable, as they demonstrate the beauty and richness of our culture, the ability to preserve traditions and generate new meanings, to be united and combine their personal stories into a single common history of Ukraine.

In the WCU, it was noted that this year’s campaign aims to strengthen cultural diplomacy and unite Ukrainian communities around the world – from Paris to Abu Dhabi, from Toronto to Nairobi.
