In Kyiv, they propose to set the cost of a single trip in public transport at 30 UAH. For passengers who regularly use city transport, a system of discounts on travel tickets is provided, reported in the Kyiv City State Administration.
Tariffs in the capital were last revised in 2018.
The need for updating is explained by the need to bring the cost closer to the economically justified level, the growth of transport companies’ expenses for electricity, fuel, labor and infrastructure maintenance, as well as a reduction in passenger traffic.
According to the calculations of transport companies, the economically justified tariff for 2026 is 64.60 UAH per trip in the metro and 44.14 UAH in ground public transport.
Expenses in the tariff project were calculated based on the actual indicators for 2025, the forecasted price growth and updated labor and energy costs.
For passengers who regularly replenish their transport card, a discount scale is planned: 30 UAH for 1-9 trips, 28.90 – for 10-19, 27.80 – for 20-29, then with a reduction to 25 UAH for 50 trips.
Monthly travel tickets provide from 1,088 UAH for 46 trips to 2,888 UAH for 124 trips, and an unlimited monthly travel ticket for all types of transport and the funicular will cost 4,875 UAH.
For students and pupils, preferential conditions are preserved: students will pay 50% of the cost of a monthly travel ticket, pupils during the summer holidays – 25%, and during the school year they will travel free of charge.

Also, a transfer ticket for 60 UAH is planned to be introduced, which will allow passengers to transfer between the metro and ground transport within 90 minutes.
For guests of the city, unlimited travel tickets for 24, 48 and 72 hours are provided, costing from 375 to 750 UAH.
New tariffs are planned to be introduced from July 15, 2026, after the completion of regulatory policy procedures and consultations with the public and trade unions.
Trips purchased on a transport card before July 14, 2026, will remain valid until September 14, 2026.
Proposals and comments on the draft order can be submitted until June 1, 2026, through the platform forum.kyivcity.gov.ua.
