The Government has approved the amount of one-time financial assistance to veterans and victims of Nazism for Independence Day

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the amount of one-time financial assistance for Independence Day in 2026 for war veterans and victims of Nazi persecution, as stated in the government’s resolution No. 602 of May 13, 2026.

Payments are expected to be made before August 24, 2026. The amount of assistance ranges from 450 to 3,100 UAH, depending on the recipient’s category.

People with disabilities due to war and former minor prisoners of concentration camps will receive:

  • 3,100 UAH for I group disability;
  • 2,900 UAH for II group;
  • 2,700 UAH for III group.

Participants in combat operations, victims of the Revolution of Dignity, and former minor prisoners of concentration camps will receive 1,000 UAH each.

People with special merits before the Motherland will receive 3,100 UAH each.

Family members of deceased war veterans and defenders of Ukraine are expected to receive a payment of 650 UAH. They will also receive it if they are the spouses of deceased people with disabilities due to war or participants in combat operations, provided they have not remarried.

450 UAH will be paid to:

  • war participants;
  • former ghetto and concentration camp prisoners;
  • people forcibly deported to work;
  • children of partisans and underground fighters.

Such payments are provided for by the laws on the status of war veterans and victims of Nazi persecution.
