The transnational Cultural Complex “Pre-Cucuteni-Ariușd-Cucuteni-Trypillia” has been included in the UNESCO Preliminary List, according to the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
The complex consists of 15 archaeological sites in Ukraine, 36 in Romania, and 20 in Moldova. Ukrainian monuments are located in 8 regions and reflect a high level of development of settlements, planning, and material culture of the Eneolithic era.
The next stage is to prepare a full nomination dossier for submission to UNESCO with the aim of including the objects in the World Heritage List.
The Trypillian culture is an important part of European cultural heritage and one of the brightest evidence of the development of ancient civilizations on the territory of modern Ukraine. The inclusion of the “Pre-Cucuteni-Ariușd-Cucuteni-Trypillia” complex in the UNESCO Preliminary List opens up new opportunities for international cooperation, research, and preservation of these unique monuments.

On September 18, 2025, the Ministries of Culture of Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in preparing a joint nomination dossier for the submission of a transnational serial object to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
